Ed got up with G when he woke up at 6:30 this morning and they came in and woke me up at 9 am! Wow! I had a terrible night's sleep because my stomach hurt so bad, but G only got up once last night!!! They came in, sat on the bed, and Ed gave me a kiss. Then he said to G, "show Mommy the present we broguht her." Ed peeled open G's hand and inside it was a smooshed up and decapitated dandelion. G had the most fantastic smile on his face. He reluctantly gave me his "prize."
THIS is the life I wanted...this is what me keep going when a pregnancy would end, when I would test and not get a + sign. This is what I pictured in my mind when I would dream about how my life as someone's Mom would be. Thank you for giving me this life Edward - I couldn't do it without you and our son!!!
We packed up a snack pack of watermelon, goldfish, and Dorito's, loaded up the dogs and G, and took off down Highway 12. We watched the whitewater for miles and miles on the Lochsa River, getting to see kayakers and rafters whoopin' and hollerin' on their way over the rapids. We stopped and took pictures of all the beautiful things, and of each other. At Lowell and the Three Rivers (where the Lochsa River joined the Selway River to form the Clearwater River) we turned and went 19 miles up the Selway, to Selway Falls. G slept on and off during the drive, and got out and put his toes in the rivers, laughed at the dogs getting splashed by waves, and was a good boy in general. I don't know how we lucked out to get such an easy going and enjoyable little boy! Ed and I enjoyed getting to spend time together doing what we love, exploring and learning about our world. The best part is the third person in the truck that we now get to share it with.
Pictures to come - of course!!!
a little bit about what's here
Welcome to my brains dump station. Please don't feel obligated to read it but if you are here it's because you expressed an interest in being here or I just happen to think you're rad and want to include you in our life. Feel free to comment so that I know if anyone is reading! Not that it would stop me from blogging if no one did read, it's just nice to know who is around every once in awhile! I'll try to hit spell check before I post but I make no guarantee's! It's my blog and therefore you will find that I don't censor myself very often, especially when it comes to swear words (I'm working on it). If you don't like what I have to say, feel free to not read. I'm okay with that.
I love being a work from home mom to my one and only child, G. He is a dream that I never thought would come true. It's my goal in my life to raise him to be thoughtful, witty, respectful, gentle, sincere, creative, determined, instinctive, charming, frank, truculent, faithful, reflective, happy, active, bright, ambitious, talented, productive, decisive, kind hearted, friendly, proud, sarcastic, calm, righteous, generous, protective, dynamic, silly, adaptable, brave, honorable, gregarious, funny, fearless, outgoing, magnanimous, confident, cultured, fair and just plain amazing. It's not too tall an order, it's my life's work.

I miss you more each day
It's been 3 months since you died, Dad. I thought it was supposed to stop hurting so much when I think about you? Do you see everything you are missing out on? Do you see Mom crying when she see's it all without you? I wish you were here, I wish I could see your face and hear your laugh. I wish you didn't have to leave us so soon.
Three months ago today I was making arrangements with a funeral home to pick up your body at the hospital, and trying to keep a brave face while inside I wanted to scream "IT'S NOT FAIR!!!" But you taught me for years that life is not fair and to not use the word "fair" as to you it was non-existant.
But it's not fair...

Time for a change

Is he walking?
How many steps does he have to take unassisted in order for us to claim that he's walking? As of yesterday he will take about 10-12 by himself, but only if I'm standing in front of him holding my hand out and he's trying to "catch" me. Otherwise he'll take a few steps from one piece of furniture to the other. Ed and I sit on the floor and play Red Rover Red Rover with him and he takes about 6-8 steps between us. Either that tires him out or bores him because he'll only put up with our cheers and such for about 15 minutes. It is the COOLEST thing to watch him walk to us though. I know, we'll probably wish that he was still stuck just crawling, but I can't wait to watch him navigate everything wtihout getting the knees of his pants so dang dirty! :)
Moved, but not exactly settled
Whew - what an adventure and a giant pain in the butt! The good news is that we're moved!
The house in Pocatello still isn't sold.
We're busy cleaning and painting and unpacking here in Powell though!
Too busy for much blogging - but when we're done I will post pictures and tell you more about our new life!!!
