a little bit about what's here

Welcome to my brains dump station. Please don't feel obligated to read it but if you are here it's because you expressed an interest in being here or I just happen to think you're rad and want to include you in our life. Feel free to comment so that I know if anyone is reading! Not that it would stop me from blogging if no one did read, it's just nice to know who is around every once in awhile! I'll try to hit spell check before I post but I make no guarantee's! It's my blog and therefore you will find that I don't censor myself very often, especially when it comes to swear words (I'm working on it). If you don't like what I have to say, feel free to not read. I'm okay with that.

I love being a work from home mom to my one and only child, G. He is a dream that I never thought would come true. It's my goal in my life to raise him to be thoughtful, witty, respectful, gentle, sincere, creative, determined, instinctive, charming, frank, truculent, faithful, reflective, happy, active, bright, ambitious, talented, productive, decisive, kind hearted, friendly, proud, sarcastic, calm, righteous, generous, protective, dynamic, silly, adaptable, brave, honorable, gregarious, funny, fearless, outgoing, magnanimous, confident, cultured, fair and just plain amazing. It's not too tall an order, it's my life's work.

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.

They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideas. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

More summer fun at Grandma's house!

Last week Ed pulled our camp trailer up and parked it in my Mom's yard while him and Josiah built her a fence. We left it here so that G and I could come up here for a few days at a time this summer and have a place to sleep, since Mom's house has kind of been overrun.

Sarah came home with us last week and G and I brought her back in time for physical therapy on Friday. On Saturday Mom, Sarah, Lisa, Josiah, G and me all piled into the truck and went to Bull Lake for Penney and Bruce's belated wedding reception. I took G into the lake for his first time swimming in a lake! He was so awesome, he doggy paddled and kicked his legs and he absolutely loved it! He rode the waves in his green turtle floatie and didn't want to come out of the water.

The next day all of us drove up to Mom & Dad's huckleberry picking spot. We had a hard time finding it at first, since Dad's the map guru and he was the one who knew how to get there, Mom had a hard time remembering exactly where to go. Mom, Josiah, Lisa and I picked a large amount of huckleberries and Sarah watched for G and made us lunch. G was a good little picker, but once he tasted one (and fell in love) he just ate all that he picked. At one point he figured out that he didn't even have to pick them anymore because there were plenty in our buckets for him to eat out of instead. So then the game was keeping him out of our buckets. He especially liked how the berries were like marbles and rolled around. G's face was stained purple from all the yumminess!

After we decided to call it a day on the huckleberry picking we all went and floated the CdA River! G did great at that too, just hanging out (and falling asleep) on the 4 hour trip down the river. The boy is a little water nut, for sure! He was wearing a swim diaper, which I have to tell you, does not hold pee. It was nice when I got a little chilly and all of a sudden I got warm! In one little rapids spot the boat I was in (G was in Grandma's inner tube with her) popped, so I took Lisa's tube and she had to ride with Josiah. Whoops! We were sad that the S.S. PeePee (the boat my Dad would float the river in and joked about warming up his own special way) was damaged, but Josiah will patch it later. We got started a little bit too late and we couldn't make it the 5 miles down the river to where we had parked the car (the truck was where we put in) so we ended up getting out of the river and sending Lisa to go get the car. Lucky her huh? We all came back to Mom's house, evaluated our aches, pains and sunburns (G had none of that of course) and passed out for the night!
